Dietitian Nutritionist

Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders & Obesity

In 2007 he was a member of the seven-member group of natural persons for the elaboration of the program “Proper Nutrition & Exercise as a measure to prevent childhood obesity” of the Ministry of National Education & Religions implemented by the Directorate of Secondary Education of Thesprotia and with the support of Clinic of the Medical School of the University of Ioannina and the Pediatric Clinic of the General Hospital “Hatzikosta” of Ioannina.

In 2009 he was a founding member of the Institute for Nutritional Studies & Research (FDI) and since April 2009 he is Vice President of FDI.

In 2011 he enrolled in the postgraduate program of the National Center for Eating Disorders of Great Britain (National Center for Eating Disorders) which is done in collaboration with the Center for Training & Management of Eating Disorders (KEADD) in Greece.

In 2012 he received the title Master Practitioner for Eating Disorders & Obesity.

Academic & Scientific Course

In 1996 he was admitted to the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics of ATEI. Thessaloniki. During his studies he was a scholarship holder of the State Scholarship Foundation (I.K.Y.)

During the International Food & Beverage Exhibition in 1997 and 1999 (DETROP ’97, ’99) he was in charge of the School of Food & Nutrition Technology for the participation of the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics.

His dissertation was a standard topic and concerned low calorie and fat foods (light foods) and was done in combination with research on the consumption of these products and recording of all these light products that were circulating in the Greek market. The study was published in 2004 at the 6th Macedonian Nutrition Conference.
The completion of his studies took place in 2000, after the completion of his internship next to the leading and renowned dietitian – nutritionist, Evangelos Zoumbaneas.

In 2013 he was admitted to the Department of Chemistry of the University of Ioannina to obtain a master’s degree in Food Science & Technology. Since the same year he is an official collaborator of the Panhellenic Festival of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Action, organized by the Cultural Center of the Region of Central Macedonia, where he conducts nutrition training for special groups of people.

Since 2014 he is an official collaborator of the Cultural Agency ESAEI EN ROI, providing consulting support for the Hygiene and Nutrition of Professional Artists in a program of the Ministry of Education & Religions.

In 2015 he is an official collaborator of the Cultural Agency ESAEI EN ROI, providing consulting support for the Hygiene and Nutrition of Professional Artists in a program of the Ministry of Education & Religions.

In 2018 he undertook the nutritional support of Artists within the program “ACTIONS OF ARTISTIC EDUCATION”, a program recognized by the Ministry of Education, Research & Religions and the Ministry of Culture & Sports.
All these years he has participated in dozens of conferences and workshops with his speeches and presentations.

Professional Course

In 2000 and for 2 years he worked in the scientific slimming centers “New Day”, he collaborated with the multifaceted centers Universal Studios and leading doctors in Athens. He also collaborated with Science Technologies to create the DIET 2000’A diet program.

In 2002 in collaboration with his colleague Spyridoulas Daflakis, they drafted the nutrition program of the Nursery Schools of the Municipality of Igoumenitsa.

In 2003 αhe undertook the monitoring of athletes of the Municipal Nautical Club of Igoumenitsa watching a number of athletes, including the World Champion & Olympian in rowing Alexandra Tsiavou. To date, he has attended athletes of various sports (Markoulas Giorgos – Olympic Weightlifting / Andreas Varveris – 5th World Position in Kick Boxing / Haritini Oikonomou – 6th World Position Rowing / Andreas Stavrou – Pan-European Athletics and other High Athletics). At the same time, in collaboration with scientific collaborators of MediDiatrofi, he has attended sports clubs such as PAE AEL, the academies of PAOK, the sports swimming club of Ioannina POSEIDON etc.

In 2003 he opened the first privately owned dietary unit in the city of Igoumenitsa, but since then he is also in Athens next to his colleague, Evangelos Zoumbaneas. to date as an external scientific collaborator.

In 2008 he founded the Scientific Center for Nutrition & Clinical Dietetics in the city of Ioannina and collaborated with leading doctors – professors of the University of Ioannina and participated in studies for the prevention of childhood obesity.

In 2009 he founded MediDiatrofi (www.medidiatrofi.gr) which is one of the largest networks of information and provision of health and nutrition services in Greece, with which more than 120 health scientists collaborate. MediDiatrofi has collaborated with public bodies such as the Ministries of Education, Culture, University Bodies, Sports Teams, Associations, with information services on nutrition and health issues as well as the provision of nutrition services through the renowned associates belonging to the MediDiatrofi staff.

In 2011 he started the collaboration with Wellness, one of the largest multidisciplinary centers of Medical Aesthetics in Northwestern Greece in the city of Ioannina.

Since 2017 it provides its services to KEP Health of Igoumenitsa.

In 2014 after an excellent collaboration with his renowned colleague Konstantinos Xenos, they proceeded with a series of actions and then, for the first time, the license to practice the profession of dietitian-nutritionist was instituted, but for the first time by law, dietitians-nutritionists participate in primary care structures state.

He participated in the elections again in 2015 and was re-elected to the Board of Directors of EDDE.

In 2002 2002 he dealt for the first time with the issues of his field and participated in the elections. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Panhellenic Association of Dietitians – Techn. Nutrition and served as General Secretary of the association.

In 2003 he started a series of collaborations with Greek channels (ALTER, NET, STAR, ANT1, MEGA, ART TV, ZOUGLA TV), where he appeared in dozens of shows promoting the importance of proper nutrition in ensuring physical health and promoting the profession of dietitian – nutritionist.

He also collaborated with major news sites (TLIFE, NEWSIT, ZOUGLA), informing the reading public about proper nutrition and the prevention of health through nutrition.

He has collaborated with newspapers and magazines of pan-Hellenic scope (Afternoon, Harmony, Free Press, Nail, Kathimerini, Votre Beaute, Health & Style, Alpha, Well e.t.c) , informing the public about the value of proper nutrition, promoting the role of the dietitian in the daily life of man and giving interviews.
